The implication of the Church

If we take our survey, we remember that the present village of Rennes-Le-Chateau is built on the ruins of the "high" city of Rhédae. Quoted constructed, to the departure, by the Wisigothses.
It is recognized that after the bag of Rome, in 410, the Wisigothses seize its treasure, constituted of the loots of the Romans acquired at the time of their conquests through the centuries. A passage of the conquest of Rome is for us more interesting.

Rennes-le-Château the File: The transportation of the Menora by the Romans
In 70, emperor Vespasien assigns his Son Titus to make the seat of Jerusalem. Finally he/it will take the city and will sack it while seizing the Treasure. In order to commemorate the campaign of Titus, the Romans raise a bow of triumph that one can see again nowadays. Several stages are engraved there, of which the one of the emperor's parade accompanied by her prisoners and the loot took to the enemy. We can see a big candlestick there to seven branches of rich invoice and can carry by several men. For a lot of historians, this candlestick to seven branches would be the Jewish menora. This candlestick is one of the main symbols of the Jewish religion. This element was placed in the just piece before the Saint of the Saints, place where was maintained the ark of alliance and that only the Big priest could see, once per year at the time of the feast of the atonement.
It is established therefore that the Novels returned with them the Menora, this high symbol of the Jewish religion. Just has small parenthesis, with look to the ark of alliance, it is certain it that was not anymore Salomon's in Temple at the time of the invasion Novel Jerusalem in. One can probably conclude some, that at the time of their hold Rome of, in 410, the Wisigothses probably seized the Menora and the rest of the treasure.
One knows that the Wisigothses were of religion Christian Arienne, and that by definition, they knew the Bible and the gospels. We can think therefore with a certain safety, that they perfectly recognized this object of the cult Jew and the importance that it donned, so much on an aspect tésoraire, that on a philosophical and religious aspect. Let's not forget that the Jews assigned him some powerful occult powers.

With the passing of the historic research, one knows that the Wisigothses became implanted in the region from Toulouse, where they founded Toulouse and Carcassonne. Carcassonne that, for some authors, would have been the city depository of the Philosophical Treasure of the Wisigothses. He/it seems that they made an important nuance between a treasure of sounding and stumbling currencies with a treasure of objects having some reports with the art or the religion.

When the Francs, driven by Clovis, repulsed them to the limits of their domain, the Wisigothses retired in the high valley of Aude and probably in Rhédae. We can suppose therefore, understandably, that the "Philosophical" Treasure was brought back toward this Strong place. The question that we must ask is the following: Does this treasure have summer placed in Rhédae, for a limited length and transferred therefore toward Tolède, or did it remain there in part?

This question is heavy of consequence! Although considered like heretics by the official church, the Wisigothses were not less of them the Christians. Would the church have had knowledge of this deposit?

One ignores it! On the other hand the reaction of the church and Popes was remarkable in opposition to this region. Even, if they didn't know the exact place of the fabulous deposit, they decided to supervise of very near the surroundings of this village that became Rennes-Le-Chateau. What are the means that the Popes put in .uvre? And well, the more on the time. Of the means of an efficiency demonstrated, of the men knew especially for their discretion and their efficiency, of the men, that didn't have to answer that to only one master: The pope. These men were the Templars.

Rennes-le-Château the File: The Seal of the Great Master of the Templars
Their implantation on the tray of the Rennes-Le-Chateau and its near surroundings are astonishing. The order of the Templars had implanted a commanderie to the Bézu and had possessed a strong place dominating the tray instead says "Les Tipliés ." The ruins of this castle carry the name of "Castle of the Templars" currently and are even visible of the point of
Rennes-le-Château the File: The Seal of the Templars in Earth-Saint

The Templars didn't become implanted that in the Bézu. It is recognized that a firm Templar existed to the foot of the cliff of "La Pique " instead says "La Valdieu ."

The Templière concentration in this region is important. One knows that the Templars exploited abandoned mines of money of the Romans during the antique.

Another important commanderie, was implanted to Luc-on-Aude, close to Rennes-Le-Chateau.

Currently, he/it is admitted commonly that the commanderies was distant the some of the other by one day of horse, allowing the travelers thus to find sure shelters to spend the night. This rule doesn't seem have been applied to the region concerned by our survey

What was the exact position of the Templars vis-à-vis the site of Rennes-Le-Chateau? It is good to note that this same Order, to its embryonic time, had been mandated by the Pope to go to make some research in Jerusalem. Then one asked him to become implanted on the tray of Rennes-Le-Chateau that at the time, didn't yet don more the strategic aspect that he/it had at the time of the Wisigothique implantation. The order of the Templars doesn't seem to have notified in his/her/its statutes a function of archaeologists!

The Templière memory in the region is strong, since again nowadays some legends always circulate on them. The Templars of the Bézu marked the local tradition strongly.

Rennes-le-Château the File: The Forterresse of the Temple in Paris

The order of the Templars didn't implant the strong places, the farms, or commanderies, without having an interest there! Although individually poor, the Templars had the goal to increase the wealths of the order. It is what been worth them the resounding suit that we know. Didn't this suit have for hidden goal to seize the incredible fortune of the Temple? Besides, numerous are those to say that this fortune was only the "visible" part of their treasure, the "invisible" part being probably more philosophical and surely more spiritual.
Besides, it is funny to make the counterpart between the suit of the Templars and the one of Bérenger Saunière! The same principles have been applied! Fortunately for Saunière that the stakes were not anymore of bets in the XIX ème century. One realizes that the energy that the church developed in opposition to the Templars and Saunières is relatively astonishing. It is necessary to believe that the secret is important.

Rennes-le-Château the File: Jacques of Molay and Hugues of Payraud on the stake

But come back to the Templars; all happened well until the period of the crusade against the Albigeoises directed by Simon of Montfort. According to what came back us of these faraway times, he/it seems that the Templars quite had an attitude astonishing vis-à-vis Cathars of the Rennes-Le-Chateau region. Some authors return that the Templars opened the doors of the commanderie of the Bézu to the heretics pursued by the men of Monfort. He/it is even returned that some Templars took the sword against the crusaders to oppose the pursuit of the Cathars. This gesture being of an extreme gravity, since the statutes of the order forbade to raise the sword on a Christian. Of as much as the attitude of the Templars vis-à-vis heretics is perfectly antagonistic to their statutes and to their function. Had to they fight the heretic to all fear?

Of part their attitude, the Templars opposed the church and the pope. Tacitly, and with this stand, they became, in fact, of the heretics. On the other hand, in 1307, when the order of arrest of the Templars was sent through kingdom of France and to the different sovereign of the border countries, the Templars of the Bézu welcomed their visitors, come to fear them, with the thread of the sword. He/it is true that in these times, they were on the territory of the king of Aragon. However that may be the Templars of this region had an attitude. not very Catholic!
